Originally built as a holiday home, this house was designed to allow for every conceivable pleasure, both in and outdoors when enjoying the local summers. The tree-lined plot accommodates a large swimming pool and tennis court, positioned within close proximity and perfectly visible from the outdoor verandas and entertainment areas around the house.
The project manager says the owner’s wish was to create a home that provided easy flow from the indoors outward, and as a result, the luxury-sized gunnited swimming pool is raised completely out of the ground and built on a series of columns for extra support.
The spacious ambience of the interior is enhanced by a restful decor theme in whites and creams that is complemented by warm timber tones and the rich textures of the fabrics. The bathrooms provide spacious bathing areas positioned in front of window spaces, where striking mountain views are visible from many different angles.
The owners’ desire to create a holiday home for comfort and relaxation is further emphasised by the large lounges and other entertainment spaces, such as the cosy undercover veranda with a braai and fireplace suited to all weather conditions.
While the outdoor living spaces were given every consideration, the interior comfort reflects a selection of state-of-the-art technical installations. Fine finishing touches include the hi-tech audio and visual system by Sound & Vision @Home, as well as a value lighting control solution.
