Situated in an upmarket suburb in KwaZulu-Natal, this spacious contemporary home is the result of a skillful renovation.

The architectural style is contemporary, whilst the finishes are in keeping with the design of the original building – a wise decision as this created a harmonious transformation from old to new.

An important consideration was creating a welcoming entertainment area, which would blend seamlessly with the existing style and design of the house.

The second section of the house has a main entrance leading onto a formal lounge, formal TV room, dining room as well as various patios all of which are open-plan with spaces that are demarcated by furniture positioning as well as changes in levels.

The main patio leads to an enormous outdoor entertainment area. This entertainment space definitely completes the transformation of the home and can effortlessly be converted into a formal dinner accommodating 60 seated people and a cocktail function of 120 people to an impressive dance floor for 150 people and a relaxing jazz lounge for 20 seated people!

In keeping with the modern theme, the owners opted for quality as opposed to quantity, where each room has been furnished with a minimalist approach.

As South African architecture is known for its use of large windows and natural materials, this home has been expertly designed to merge the indoor and outdoor elements of this property.

From its inception through to completion, all who were involved in this project ensured a home that is both fully functional and aesthetically pleasing.

The end result is a home that is ideal for the modern South African lifestyle.
