With a love for mixing old and new, the owners have retained some of the traditional features of this coastal home and introduced some contemporary ones to give it a modern twist. “It was important to keep the bones and colour tones of the old home while giving it a more modern feel.” The previous owner built and lived in the home for almost half a century. “Now we have breathed new life into it, and can hopefully enjoy it with our family for many decades,” says the home owner.
There are many nods to the past in the home. For example, orange glass from the old light fittings has been repurposed to create a chic chandelier above the stairs. “We have restored and reupholstered older chairs and classic pieces of furniture to complement the modern, sleek finishes in the home.”
