Meanwhile, Black Beard (B7-E1-1) offers a luxurious focal point with its midnight purple undertones. Rhine Castle’s (54) grey-brown, by contrast, presents a subdued take on light, airy millennial grey.
Together, the Dark family colours evoke a sense of ‘neo noir’ – a modern reinterpretation of the classic noir aesthetic. Rooted in the enigmatic allure of mid-20th-century film noir, neo noir combines its predecessor’s shadowy, atmospheric visuals and morally complex themes with contemporary elements such as striking saturations, unconventional storytelling and updated design sensibilities.
