Falling in love with the piece of land, which offers unparalleled views of a bird sanctuary and the most spectacular Johannesburg sunsets, these owners knew this was where they wanted to build their dream home for their young family. “We wanted to have an open-plan, family-orientated space that would provide a great entertainment area for loads of fun with family and friends,” says the owner. It was also essential for the home to be built around the view.
The flow of the property was paramount and the open-plan living area downstairs caters to the family’s need for seamless indoor/outdoor integration. Here the entertainment area consists of an outside lounge, dining area and wine bar. “When all the pocket doors are opened, the home is one with nature. It is hard to differentiate between inside and outside,” the owner explains.
