What do you love about being a woman in your specific industry?
I love that I’m thriving in a traditionally male- dominated industry. Building Alifurn from the ground up has been an empowering journey, not just for me, but for the women I’ve employed and mentored along the way. The fact that the majority of my team are women is something I’m deeply proud of. It’s proof that we belong in this space and that we can lead with strength, resilience and integrity.
How do you celebrate other women in the home décor and design industry?
I believe in championing women publicly and privately, whether through collaborations, supplier partnerships or social media features. I consciously seek out women-owned suppliers, designers and creatives to work with, and I always aim to create space for their voices and talents to shine.
What advice do you have for other women starting out in this industry?
Back yourself. Know that you belong at every table. Understand what’s happening in the industry and keep an eye on your competitors, but don’t get distracted by what others are doing. Stay focused on your values and strengths. Over the years, I’ve seen many businesses come in hot, make a splash and then disappear because they lacked consistency and staying power. Play the long game. Do what you do well and stay true to that.
A woman to me is … powerfully multidimensional; strong, intuitive and capable of holding complexity with grace. She is both anchor and wave.
