This family is based in Europe, but the property in a quaint town near Cape Town has been in their family for the past 50 years. They decided to knock down the old house and rebuild completely instead of renovating from a distance.
“The benefit of knowing the property is that we understood the weather and movement of the sun and wind in creating the plans. We built the main house on the seaview side, and the cottage at the back of the house was designed to provide a closed and secure courtyard space, as well as give further options like a teen play area and to accommodate guests with a sleeping and living area,” says the owner.
