With the realisation their family was growing, the inspiration for the design of this property was born from the need to create a residence that would allow each family member their space yet still feel homely and connected. Having purchased the site with an existing property and a tennis court, the owners required a full demolition, with the exception of the tennis court – leaving space for a new home designed on a north-facing site in a well-established suburb in Johannesburg.
As a result of the build, space was created for a conservatory, which the owners consider one of the most distinct features of the property. Located just off the kitchen, the conservatory provides easy access to fresh herbs, for example, when cooking as well as ample sunlight and a variety of colours. This is just one area where a real connection happens whether it be with nature or as a family enjoying the experience of living here.
