Thorough planning, insight and creativity, combined with practicality, are the formula to the successful culmination of a desired home.
The residents feel their dream home projects the tone of a Cape Cod beach house, while simultaneously maintaining the feel of Africa. The breathtaking views and more than generous outdoor area, equipped with a contemporary swimming pool, are a South African’s delight, perfect for our southern hemisphere climate and late afternoon braais. The outdoor entertainment area has a gorgeous sea view, and stylish outdoor furniture.
No interior designer was required, as the home owner used her own flair and insight to furnish and decorate the home herself. “I had the idea of combining shabby chic with a slight French influence and classy African feel,” the home owner says. One of the latest trends in interior decor, shabby chic makes use of furnishings which are distressed (making an object appear older) in order to achieve an antique appearance. Employing this style, the home owner created an immaculate amalgamation of contemporary and stark timeless elegance.
The bathrooms follow the theme impeccably, with each bathroom portraying a quintessential sereneness with polished vanity, frameless elegant shower and free-standing bath tub. The kitchen creates the perfect juxtaposition with the dark hues of the classic countertops and the pale neutral tones of the rest of the room.
The mesmeric appearance of this home, commingled with the unique taste and style of the home owners, heightens serene living and also ensures an overall jubilant ambience throughout each living area.
