Whether it is the ample wood or the choice of a cool, calming colour scheme, this is a home where nature is the main feature. “The architects were given a brief to make this home as understated as possible, emphasising the outdoors to ensure that every room has a view onto the garden,” says the home owner, explaining further that this was also the reason behind the internal garden or garden courtyard effect.
To further capitalise on the need for the home to be as light as possible and allow nature in, the main living area has large sliding doors along both sides, that when pushed out of the way, give the impression of just a roof overhead with no walls. “The outside is brought into the home, which is perfect for our warm, balmy summer days,” the home owner says.
