When you find a piece of land that ticks all the boxes in terms of views and surrounding landscape, it is only natural to use that as the inspiration to create a dream home, ensuring the outside is brought in as much as possible and making it a standout feature of the home’s design as well. These owners wanted to create a peaceful, simple retreat that blends with the South African coastal landscape and allows the reinvention of natural scenery in the architecture.

By using the services of companies familiar with this landscape, area and estate, the design of the home now incorporates the views and creates a seamless indoor/outdoor flow that enhances daily living. According to the owner, a few distinct features include the large glass sliding doors and textured exterior walls that emphasise openness and natural light. It is no wonder then that one of the owner’s favourite spaces is the glass-walled living room, “where the interior feels like it is blending with the ocean inside and merging with the actual ocean outside”.
