Marble speaks to a refined taste and discernment, and has a valuable and versatile quality in its application. Artmar Natural Stone shares five ways you can use marble to create a lasting, luxurious space in your home.
Marble countertops and vanity tops
A timeless statement in any home has to be the marble kitchen or marble bathroom vanity. It raises the bar tenfold for your home’s aesthetic and value. To really go above and beyond, consider adding design elements to your marble kitchen island, like the well sought-after waterfall vein-match drop-down feature installation.
Or you can consider using two contrasting colours of marble for your countertops and central island, allowing both to shine in a light of their own. With marble vanity tops, you can customise a little further by looking at unique edging designs or consider making incredibly beautiful integrated basins.
Integrated basins are when the countertop and basin are seamlessly made from one piece of marble slab.
DESIGN TIP: For integrated basins, select a slab large enough to provide a vein match on all parts of the design. Your end look will be a satisfying and seamless result that looks like your basin was cut from a single block of marble!

Feature walls
If you want to create a wow-factor focal point in any room, a marble feature wall is exactly what you need. You can achieve this look with marble slabs or tiles that are placed with a continuous vein-matching flow. If you really want to knock it out of the park, opt for a book-match marble slab design, which is sure to be the statement that keeps on giving.
DESIGN TIP: When selecting your marble slab for a feature wall, be sure to plan which direction you want the veins to flow when you place it. This will ensure that the fabricator will cut the pieces in the correct format for your desired look.

Marble flooring
An instant way to bring timeless style, elegance and added value to your home is with marble floor tiles. With so many colours, sizes and finishes to choose from, there really is a marble flooring option for all.
Get creative by mixing and matching two different colours of marble and opting for a custom marble floor design like herringbone or the classic checkerboard. To have a more seamless flow, go for larger-format tiles like our 1 200mm x 600mm size. For a more modern take on this classic stone, you can also consider the honed finish. With marble tiles, the options are endless.
DESIGN TIP: To get a seamless flow of your marble tiles, ask your skilled tiler to butt joint them. This means you will have no grout lines between the tiles.

Marble furniture
The reason marble is such an ancient legend when it comes to building and art is because of its ability to be manipulated in so many ways, shapes and forms. A prime example of that is marble furniture. Adding a custom marble furniture piece to your space not only expresses ultimate luxury, but you can be sure that it will be a piece that lasts. Dining tables, coffee tables, desks, side tables, bookshelves, you name it. Marble can not only achieve it, but also elevate it to another level completely.
DESIGN TIP: Be sustainable and upcycle your old vintage furniture pieces by adding a marble top to them.

Marble mosaics
Marble tiles used as mosaic shower floors and walls, bathroom flooring, kitchen splashbacks or wall border designs will add some detail and texture to your space. Marble mosaics come in an array of designs and colours, like our trending Herringbone or Hexagon Marble Mosaic sheets. For bespoke requirements, some of our clients have custom mosaic sizes cut from their chosen marble tile.
DESIGN TIP: For shower floors the grout lines of your mosaics act as a non-slip agent too!
