What do you love about being a woman in your specific industry?
I value bringing empathy, collaboration and technical expertise to architecture, offering a unique, client- focused perspective as a woman in a male-dominated field.
What are some of the highlights that you have experienced?
As principal of Meik Architects, my greatest career highlights are seeing our bespoke projects come to life and travelling to remote, inspiring sites. Watching a design transform from concept to reality – and doing so in breathtaking locations – is a privilege that continues to energise and fulfil me.
How do you celebrate other women in the home décor and design industry?
As an all-female office, we understand the value of connection and support in our industry, which is why initiatives like the SA Home Owner Women’s Day event are so important. They offer a meaningful opportunity to engage with other women in the profession, sharing experiences, learning from one another and building a supportive network.
A woman to me is … strength, a bit of crazy and a hug all rolled into one incredible package.
