Obaku watches are free from distractions. That is intentional. They have done away with all the unnecessary; what remains is only simple, clean and thoughtful design. Without anything standing in the way you can focus, slow down and come to a full stop. That’s when you get to feel the moment and simply be.
Obaku’s name is taken from a branch of Zen philosophy, inspiring you to be present and mindful. The watches are timeless, drawing inspiration from Scandinavian minimalism and simplicity. All this is driven by our love for classic Danish design, which we infuse with instances of Zen, allowing us to boil everything down to mere essentials. Made only from high-quality materials, Obaku watches are created to withstand the test of time.

Sustainable watch brand of the year
Recently Obaku was voted Sustainable Watch Brand of the Year by Marie Claire. “We are increasing our focus on sustainability in our procedures as well as our products,” says Henriette Arvin, Obaku brand director. “We are very honoured to have received this distinguishment for our efforts.”
Through Obaku’s owners’ investments in solar plants, Obaku has been awarded the ‘CO2-neutral’ emblem by Obton. Furthermore, the company focuses on reduce, reuse and recycle in its offices and with manufacturing partners. The brand has launched several watches with a focus on sustainability and regularly supports various causes.

Sparkle in style: Obaku launches a new watch with a genuine diamond
The Danish designer watch brand Obaku launches a new watch made in corrosion-resistant stainless steel and featuring a highlight of a genuine diamond at 12 o’clock.
Building on past years of success, the Danish watch brand has opted to keep this watch at a highly attractive price, starting at just R2 199.
The single-cut SS1 diamond sparkles from the centre of the watch amid an elegantly swirling three-dimensional dial design.
It is easy to become mesmerised by the dial, which is fitted in an elegant, round watch case, surrounded by elongated, curving lugs, that go well with the overall design of the watch. “We have had great response to the last genuine diamond series we created,” says Arvin. “We are excited to launch this new version, which takes elegance to a new level.” The diamond watch comes with an Obaku certificate, stating the details of the diamond.
The new watch is called “JUVEL”, which means “jewel”. The title is very fitting for this watch, which is as much a piece of jewellery as it is a timepiece. The watch comes in six versions – three with mesh bracelet and three with a corrosion resistant stainless-steel bracelet in a special feminine design with elongated elements. Now you simply need to pick your favourite.
