Mountain gem

This once neglected and “somewhat expired” property designed more than two decades ago with a nod to traditional Cape architecture, has been renovated to restore its inner “magic”. Set on the slopes of the Spitskop Peak, part of the Table Mountain Nature Reserve, it boasts views of Chapman’s Peak and the Atlantic Ocean.

It was understandably important for the owner to incorporate the surroundings into the home’s design. “The vivid colours of nature, the jewel tones surrounding us – emerald, topaz, tourmaline and turquoise – mesmerised us and defined the internal and external colours of our home.”
