The Serengeti Golf and Wildlife Estate provides the ultimate location on which this exemplary home is built. Using the surrounding environment for inspiration, this imposing abode strikes the perfect balance between natural aesthetics and practicality needed for a modern lifestyle.
SBE Architects’ Suzette Hammer and Johan Breytenbach were responsible for the design of the home. Natural materials and an abundance of glass graces the exterior creating a modern yet homely appeal.
The home was designed to showcase two levels – the lower level comprises open-plan living spaces including the kitchen, lounge, bar, dining area and an exterior patio entertainment area. Access to the upper level is gained via a splendid floating staircase. The upper floor is home to the bedrooms. By using natural colours, the bedrooms have a warm and welcoming appeal that beckons one to unwind and indulge in cosy opulence.
Natural flooring materials were used to create spaces that are truly organic in their appeal. By using exposed brick on certain interior walls, visually striking spaces were created and complement the rooms of which they are a part.
The light fixtures and fittings were not only chosen for their functionality but for their aesthetic value as well. The lights throughout add a modern edge to the spaces that they grace ensuring that this home is not only comfortable but trendy and fashionable as well.
From the tranquil pool which also serves as a feature with its cascading water, to the exterior fireplace that comes complete with seating and comfortable cushions, the outdoor area has been designed in such a way that it can be used throughout the year.
