Roche Bobois offers a large collection of designer pieces, including sofas, tables, armchairs and beds. Pieces can be customised or selected from stock. Produced in Europe, fabric prints are created each year by exclusive Haute Couture Maisons.
What do you love about being a woman in your specific industry?
My industry – high-end decoration and furnishings – is exciting and full of extravagance. I meet interesting people and together we create the most beautiful, impressive and crazy projects mixing art, furniture and décor. For me, being a woman helps when it comes to designing the perfect cocoons for families as I tend to think that we are practical. Creating a space is always rewarding. I thank my parents for raising me in a family where culture and art were part of our lives.
How do you celebrate other women in the home décor and design industry?
At Roche Bobois South Africa and Mauritius, the majority of our colleagues in sales consulting and management positions are women and I really enjoy working with dynamic women. On a personal level, for the past two years, I have been collaborating on programmes to help young designers start their own businesses and I coach them during the early stages.
How do you celebrate yourself?
Celebrating yourself, for me, involves acknowledging and appreciating my accomplishments, strengths and wellbeing. I always try to learn new things. I do yoga every day, enjoy spending time with my family and my dogs. I love having the time to read in my garden and I also like a creative, vibey, slightly crazy and fun atmosphere at work – all these things nourish me.
