What do you love about being a woman in your specific industry? As a woman in architecture,
I appreciate the unique perspective I bring to designing spaces that cater to the needs of families and individuals. My understanding of spatial relationships and functionality allows me to create homes that are both beautiful and practical.
What are some of the highlights that you have experienced?
One of the greatest highlights of my career has been establishing SBE as a leading architectural firm in Africa, with a reputation for innovative design and exceptional service. Being recognised as a pioneer in my field and inspiring future generations of women architects is truly fulfilling.
What advice do you have for other women starting out in this industry?
To succeed in architecture, it’s essential to stay focused, work hard and be adaptable. Identify your strengths and passions, and don’t be afraid to specialise in a particular area. Building a strong network and seeking mentorship can also help you navigate the industry and achieve your goals.
A woman to me is … a multifaceted individual with the strength, resilience and compassion to shape her destiny and inspire others.
