What do you love about being a woman in your specific industry?
Being a woman in the interior design industry is one of the most fulfilling roles I have. All the projects I work on get a special anointed feminine touch – that’s what makes this industry such a therapeutic, creative outlet for me in many ways. I have built so many strong relationships with other women in this industry, some of whom were my clients and have now become my friends.
How do you celebrate other women in the home décor and design industry?
I am such a big fan of women who are making significant strides in this industry, especially those emerging from the technical side of the industry. I enjoy working with female architects as we immediately understand each other from the beginning. I have recently met a woman who manufactures beautiful tiles and surfaces and I’m excited to use her products in our upcoming projects soon.
How do you celebrate yourself?
I love travelling, so whenever I have anything to celebrate, I pack my bags and jet off to wherever my heart wants to go. I thank God for giving me such a privilege.
What advice do you have for other women starting out in this industry?
You may have the natural talent, but learn the skills needed in this industry, invest in yourself and in your business. Many skills are needed to really make it in this industry – talent alone is not enough.
A woman to me is … divine creation.
