With a desire for simplicity and a connection to both personal history and the surrounding landscape, this home, aptly titled “The Stone House”, was significantly influenced by the family’s time spent living in an old granite farmhouse in Jersey, Channel Islands. The property offers value in its aesthetics and design and has been built within the context of the landscape, showing reverence for the surroundings.

The breathtaking views of the Magaliesberg mountains to the north also played a central role in the design with the entrance hall framing the landscape through a large window, blurring the boundary between indoors and the natural world,” says the owner. Situated on a once-working farm, a steel-clad outdoor building reminiscent of traditional farm sheds pays homage to the location and offers a respectful nod to the site’s agricultural heritage.
