Out And About

The hidden pearl

Situated close to the Oyster Box are the garden villas. The villas, eight in total, reflect the style of the hotel, and showcase luxurious designs and decor. Each villa comes equipped with its very own private plunge pool, relaxing terrace, private lounge and bar, and lavish bathroom.

On request, villas can be converted into 2-bedroomed units by reserving one of the Garden Villa Lofts. More relaxation and tranquillity is just a walk away at the Oyster Box Spa, which ensures the highest level of personal care through its exceptionally appointed facility and dedicated staff, trained to deliver top-class spa therapy and pampering.

With its statuesque palms and indigenous flowers, the spa building has been designed with immaculate attention to detail, not only on the exquisite, handcrafted doors, but in the Colonial design and decor. Adding to the aesthetic appeal and ambience is the handcrafted spa dome by Willie Botha, and the mosaic murals and handpainted skirting tiles by Jane Du Rand.

The spa offers a small gym, six treatment rooms and traditional Turkish hammam, with central-heated marble slab, massage and shower area, and chilled plunge pool. According to the Oyster Box, the hammam is a sensual bathing retreat. “Known as the ‘silent doctor’, it was a place of cleansing and healing for both the body and soul, and these traditions can still be experienced in many natural hot springs of Turkey, Tunisia, Spain and Morocco.”

With an array of treatments and a unique fusion of therapies to choose from, a visit to the spa is personally designed for each guest, and is “a deeply pleasurable journey from the first luxurious moment to the last”.
