To enjoy breathtaking views of the majestic Twelve Apostles from your undercover verandah when living in Camps Bay, is no rare occurrence.

But, being fortunate enough to also enjoy the same privilege from the comfort of one’s luxurious bedroom and bathroom throughout the cold Cape winter months, is not to be underestimated. Accompanying this prime Atlantic Seaboard setting is a home finished to quality and perfection that invites a coastal lifestyle where families can replicate the close-knit bonds they grew accustomed to as children. Say the owners, to participate in the outdoor lifestyle and superior quality schooling at all levels offered in the neighbourhood, within close proximity of the city and beaches, adds a notable convenience factor.

When they bought this property from Michael Gawronsky, who specialises in building upmarket homes along the Atlantic Seaboard, they had one month at their disposal to design and install all the appliances and furniture. Fortunately all the interior fittings and finishes had been completed by Michael who initiated and completed the entire project from the ground, through to outsourcing only the electrical and plumbing work.

The owners say as the white porcelain and Japanese bamboo flooring and staircase provided both an aesthetically pleasing and practical starting point from where to furnish the house within a limited period of time, the family’s plan to move in by December came to fruition.

The pay-off after planning custom-designed furniture for every open space, and to select fittings and appliances that had to be built into designated spaces, is obvious when lounging around the seamless interior. Also evident is the owner’s practical approach to cooking and entertainment in the elegant kitchen, where generous proportions of electrical appliances and equipment adorn the walls and white marble counter spaces.

In designing and sourcing the white leather and timber furniture, as well as dining room table and other accompanying timber pieces to match the natural bamboo tones, they settled on using Kiaat timber based on its magnificent colour and durability.

The luxurious deep set couches added another practical dimension, because it has provided additional sleeping arrangements on each floor of the house. Convenient living is also made easy when moving through the flowing living areas between the interior and extended balcony, set above two carports adjacent to the double garage underneath. The outdoor lap pool on the upper level overlooks the Camps Bay mountainside and coastline, where the surface allows free movement on the body non-slip Muse Tiles.
