The owners brief to the architect was to design an easy-living, open-plan holiday home where adults and children could co-exist in harmony. “We were very fortunate in having an architect who interpreted our requirements exactly and produced a unique and interesting design,” add the owners.
Even before stepping inside, one is greeted by a majestic handmade door. This impressive access leads onto the open atrium where wooden decking provides warmth and ambience. A series of interlinked covered and open entertainment areas are set around this central heart of the home.
The interior is informal and minimalistic, yet speaks volumes about comfort and sophistication. The owners of this abode opted to incorporate rich earthy colours such as beige, brown and orange. The open-plan sitting room introduces a majestic teal colour into the home. Large stack doors allow the natural light to filter through and are also able to open up completely, providing the owners with the unsurpassed beauty of the ocean.
The utmost attention has been paid to even the smallest detail, and with five luxuriously decorated bedrooms, two of which are master bedrooms and fitted with all the bells and whistles, the family is in the lap of luxury even when on holiday. A plethora of glass makes it possible for the owners to enjoy the grandiose sunrise from the comfort of their bed in the morning, and with the doors opening up to reveal a private patio.
With its casual and inviting appeal, solid and comfortable furnishings and superlative views of the natural surrounding and the grand Indian Ocean, this home is the essence of true relaxation and positively rejuvenates a tired mind, body and soul.
