“There were a number of goals that we felt were important for us to achieve in the home and these included an open-plan living area with the pool as the focal point.The layout of the entertainment area also had to accommodate small and large groups of people, the kitchen had to be a feature of the open-plan area, there had to be separate en suite bedrooms for our two daughters, and the main bedroom had to be an idyllic and perfect getaway that offers my husband and I a cosy retreat in one organised area,” explains the owner.
She also adds that it was imperative for the living spaces to be completely separated from the bedrooms and that the entire home, both inside and out, had to be simple to maintain with easy-to-clean finishes.
The architecture of the home has resulted in north-facing spaces that facilitate the entry of natural light throughout and also ensures adequate temperature distribution accordingly.
The treatment of the interior spaces was undertaken by the owners and this resulted in areas of the home that comprise decor that optimises the purpose of a particular room. Prominent decor themes in the home include minimalist and modern spaces that are extremely comfortable and emit a warm ambience.
When asked about her favourite room in the home, the owner says that it is without a doubt the main bedroom as it offers her and her husband space, privacy, warmth, abundant cupboard space, a social layout, an open-plan bathroom, outdoor shower and a private patio. When asked about what the entire family felt when they first entered their new home, the owner says that they could hardly wait to have their first party.
