The Sonos story
Sonos began 18 years ago in Santa Barbara, California, with its founders John MacFarlane, Tom Cullen, Trung Mai and Craig Shelburne, who conjured a daring vision based on technology that didn’t exist at the time. The four founders worked to find a new way to bring music to every home, wirelessly, in multiple rooms, from PCs and the internet, with awesome sound.
They hired a team to build amazing products from scratch, and music devotees all over the world found a new brand to fall in love with. When looking to the future, people at Sonos are clear they are not merely constructing marvels of technology. They are crafting richer music experiences in and outside the home, which means joining forces across the universal divide between engineering and creative talent.
