The intention behind the design of this home was to create a contemporary coastal residence that sits comfortably within its environment while celebrating the lush, picture-perfect surrounding landscape. As a testament to modern seaside homes, the property is designed with traditional pitched roof forms – synonymous with the local architectural character – reinterpreted in a modern way through clean lines, generous glazing and a restrained material palette.
“The home was carefully oriented to maximise natural light throughout the day while framing views of the ocean from almost every primary living space. The result is a property that feels intrinsically connected to its setting, where the architecture enhances rather than competes with the beauty of the coastline,” explains the architect.
