Tell us more about the artwork featured on the September cover of SA Home Owner.

Imported from Spain, this unique art piece crafted from chains offers a distinctive way to enhance your space. Customisable to any artwork, it reflects personal style. The September cover piece adds cultural richness and a modern touch, featuring intricate design and innovative materials that complement contemporary interiors.

How do you select artwork that complements both the style of the space and the personality of the client?

Selecting artwork involves understanding the client’s vision and personal definition of art. We offer various styles and themes to gauge preferences, then advise on pieces that harmonise with the space and reflect the client’s unique taste and character.

Can you describe a recent project where artwork played a pivotal role in the design? What was the inspiration behind it?

One of our recent projects, now a “best-seller,” exemplifies how art can transform design. Featuring a striking portrait of an African woman, the artwork balances strength with serenity. This piece introduces airiness and lightness, harmonising with the masculine design to create a sophisticated, free-flowing space that embodies the client’s vision of strength and freedom.

How do you approach working with artists to ensure that their vision aligns with the overall design of the space?

Each project is unique, requiring collaboration with a diverse range of artists. We work closely with clients and selected artists to ensure the artwork aligns with the design vision. By maintaining a network of talented artists and facilitating open communication, we deliver personalised and cohesive design solutions that resonate with the client’s taste.

What challenges have you faced when incorporating unique artwork into a space, and how did you overcome them?

A key challenge in incorporating unique artwork is differing perceptions of what constitutes “art.” We view art as more than traditional paintings, including sculptures, decorative elements, and bespoke pieces. We educate clients on art’s diverse forms, fostering an open-minded approach and collaboration. By presenting varied artistic options and integrating them seamlessly into designs, we ensure the artwork enhances and personalises the space.

How do you ensure that the artwork you choose remains relevant and appealing as design trends and client tastes evolve?

Despite changing trends, true art remains timeless by staying true to its essence, whether through bold colours or minimalist designs. We ensure artwork integrates with the space, tells a meaningful story, and reflects the client’s taste. Thoughtful integration makes art a key element of the design, maintaining its significance and appeal over time.
