This old colonial-style beach home had lots of charm and an old worldly feel in its original form. “It stood like an old lady who had lost her sense of style, and I wanted to not only restore her to her former beauty, but also create an updated version of what she could be without losing her character,” explains the owner.
The result, to the owner’s delight, is a magnificently restored and modernised French colonial beach house with a variety of statement features, all lending themselves to a warm and welcoming home. The owner mentions that the property was chosen to be the heart of The Healing Retreat – “a home away from home where people can come on their own to rest and restore mind, body and soul”. She says her home is a place of healing.
