Considered without feeling contrived, this home in the middle of one of Johannesburg’s more established suburbs manages to combine the best elements of estate living (serenity and security) without any of the constraints.
“The first time I drove up the Jacaranda tree-lined street, I knew I was in the right place,” the owner reveals. “I was fortunate enough to find a subdivision of an old property, which gives me both privacy and security in a neighbourhood of mature trees. There is lots of space between the properties, while 24-hour guards and cameras provide good security. It works well as a lock-up-and-go without the restrictions that come from living in a townhouse complex.”
