One of the defining principles for the creation of this home was restraint – with every material, finish and object carefully considered to showcase interiors that remained true to the architecture while providing the home owners with a comforting and welcoming experience that takes full advantage of the magnificent coastal views.
While the architecture is unapologetically bold and modern, the interior offers a sense of warmth and familiarity associated with farmhouse living. For the interior designer, this was achieved by finding the perfect balance between the contemporary and farmhouse aesthetics and allowing them to complement rather than compete with each other. She explains that the interior architecture was intentionally kept clean, minimal and contemporary so it complemented the home’s architectural language. “The farmhouse influence, which the owners required, was introduced through carefully curated furniture, accessories and styling for a home that feels refined and timeless, and where the contemporary design is softened by warmth, texture and personality,” elaborates the designer.
