What do you love about being a woman in your specific industry?
There are a few things, including the physical and mental challenge of working with nature and overcoming obstacles, the opportunity to work outdoors and connect with the natural world, the creativity and freedom to design and bring ideas to life, the chance to learn and grow in a constantly evolving industry and the satisfaction of seeing my work bring joy to others.
As a woman, what do you bring that is unique to the industry?
Attention to detail: women often bring a meticulous approach to landscape design and installation. Nurturing and care: women’s innate caregiving qualities extend to nurturing plants and landscapes. Empathy and understanding: women’s emotional intelligence helps them connect with clients.
How do you celebrate yourself?
By reflecting on my artistic landscape journey and taking the time to appreciate how far I’ve come. I thank God daily for the grace, mercy and talent.
