As one of the most popular kitchen styles, a country-themed kitchen is a favourite for many as it effortlessly combines a range of natural materials and timeless accessories to create a warm and hospitable space. Here are a few of our favourites from the pages of SA Home Owner.
Exposed wooden roof trusses open up the ceiling and add to the rustic beauty of this kitchen. Neutral finishes combine well with the simple palette in the interior, to create a serene atmosphere.

The owners of this kitchen were inspired by old historical buildings such as cathedrals and churches in Europe, so with the help from their architectural designer, Julian van der Linde, they managed to give their kitchen a timeless quality, despite it being newly built. Van der Linde explains: “Only true materials where used – no fake rock or wood. We used natural raw materials that would age and add grace to the home over time.”

With a palette of soft pale blues and creams, the Shaker-style units balance out the rich wood tones of the kitchen table and floors. Pots hanging from a wrought-iron rack, a wooden centre island table, a bowl of fruit and other quaint accessories are all timeless features found in a country-style kitchen.
