Estate living doesn’t get any better than this, and this particular home, set in a luxurious estate in KwaZulu-Natal, takes the contemporary lifestyle to grand new heights.
The theme of this home is contemporary, which is enhanced by the clean lines and careful layout, resulting in spacious, open-plan living. Nikki Rolfe of Nikki Rolfe Interiors was the interior decorator on the project, and she created an extraordinary design by using rich fabrics and a wide range of textures for integrated elegance throughout the home.
The entire house is a collection of beautiful aspects that make up one completely chic living space. However, if there’s one thing that stands out, it is the ingenious use of various materials that blend harmoniously throughout the home – from the kitchen countertops and its modern bar stools, to the use of rich fabrics and lavish materials in the lounge that exude trendy style. Attractive accessories were also used – small personal touches that pull subtle shades of colour from one room to the next create a unique appeal in this home and give it a charming character.
According to Nikki Rolfe: “The exceptional interior/exterior flow was achieved with glass doors and large windows that are utilised to encourage the flood of light. The lounge and dining area is open and spacious, complete with light walls, floors and ceilings that capture the day’s sunlight, which is reflected throughout the interior.”
The artwork in the home was supplied by Isabel Roos, owner of Imbizo Gallery in Ballito, who is a fine art consultant providing a one-stop service to interior decorators, private and corporate clients. The art that features in the home adds yet another source of bold, brilliant colour throughout, which in turn adds to the contemporary theme.
The estate in which this home sits overlooks a private beach, and the plush KZN surrounds ensures that, even in such a modern estate, one never loses touch with nature.
To that end, the natural exterior finishes and stylish outdoor furniture on the balcony ensure that the home is perfectly suited to the tranquil surroundings of its coastal setting.
