Aqua allure

By Anna-Marie Smith

A wonderful home for a family from upcountry, when they need a break from the city, in a centrally positioned part of this quaint coastal village set along the Indian Ocean and backing onto the majestic Sir Lowry’s Pass.

Fortunately for the interior designer, Tracy Ann Oberholzer of Tracy O Interiors and Design, she was presented with a clean canvas as a starting point.
She says her brief was to produce a modern, cutting edge design complete with a kitchen in a high gloss finish with clean lines.

Finding inspiration from the magnificent ocean views and surroundings, it was perfectly suited to using pale aqua blues and azures in her palette of colours.
Contemporary-style furniture, as well as a selection of items in clear and some curved glass created a more spacious environment, and were complemented by bold soft furnishings in fun designs and textiles. Beautiful wooden floors provide warmth contrasted by the cool shades of aqua.

The designer kitchen features a high gloss charcoal finish, and is trimmed with stainless steel and glass splashbacks instead of tiles, providing sleek, elegant visual images.
For these lucky clients their renewed apartment has become rejuvenated with not only beautiful colour schemes, but exceptional flow that provides a harmonious holiday environment for easy living.
