Fig House: Los Angeles

Written by Jess Binns

If you were looking to host the ultimate party, Los Angeles has to be one of your top five locations, and I’ve just discovered the perfect venue, which will exceed all your expectations! Newly opened, Fig House, based in the Highland Park in LA, is the brainchild of Steve Fortunato. A self-made restaurateur, Steve is hoping to fill the gap between the fine-dining restaurant experience and the catered format.

“People go to these great restaurants where the food is phenomenal and the service is phenomenal, but on their wedding day, holiday party or 50th birthday they’ve come to expect mediocrity because it’s a catered event.”

Steve believes that a special event should be just that. For this to happen the location, the venue, the service and the food all need to surpass the client’s requirements. A visual feast certainly springs to mind when viewing photos of the interiors. TV host and stylist, Emily Henderson, was brought onboard to create a true LA vibe, blending old vintage pieces with the very latest from the emerging talent in Los Angeles.

Artwork also plays a large role in the interior detail, instantly adding an outlet for local artists. Carefully selected by Danielle Krysa, otherwise known as ‘The Jealous Curator’, Danielle and Emily worked closely to pull off this glorious look. The outcome is a colour fest with a true American boldness and, dare I say, almost a homely feel.
