Suzie Mc Adam is an interior architect who is fast making a name for herself in Ireland. Her career began in California, working in an interior design studio following her education in Ireland. She returned to Ireland and began Suzie McAdam Design Studio, a company that has blossomed into a highly successful practice serving both Irish and English clients.
With a focus on the high-end residential and office sector, Mc Adam’s flair lies in historical buildings with a contemporary approach. “The studio doesn’t impel a ‘house style’; rather, each project is a holistic and unique journey that is a reflection of the client’s needs and the function of the architecture.”
As I peruse the impressive portfolio, it’s clear many of the interiors possess a flamboyant and whimsical edge. Her daring use of colour, mixed with heavily veined marbles and dramatic statement lighting, is certainly her trump card. I do think Mc Adam’s time in the US has had a direct influence on her designs.
Aside from the studio, Mc Adam runs an award-winning blog called Design Seeker. It covers interiors as well as travel, and is a great insight into her thought processes and design decisions. Definitely worth checking out!
Best wishes,
