Step forward Lykke + Nielsen. This award winning duo from Denmark are an architect and interior outfit working across the Danish board on projects ranging from large house restorations to urban planning.
The creation of the ‘Moen Huset’ was a sideline project, which they felt compelled to follow. Made up of modular sections, the idea is to give the buyer flexibility to essentially create their own home that can be ordered and built within six months.
Lykke + Nielsen have definitely had fun with these homes, from giant exterior doors to ladder climbing loft bedrooms. The monochrome palette gives off an uncluttered air, and the oversized windows allow for the outdoors to be invited in. With its striking log burner, the ‘Moen Huset’ caters for the cooler months and in contrast, the wrap around deck gives way to alfresco dining.
