This magical studio, built into the side of the Chilean coastline, peers out over the ocean and beyond.
Designed by Felipe Assadi and Francisca Pulido, this creative space was formed to compliment the owners’ main house further up the hill. The same board-formed concrete panels were used to retain the architectural dialogue between both buildings.
As you approach the structure, you descend into the ground via a metal staircase, the main body is completely hidden by way of rooftop planting and a lookout deck, instantly adding an air of mystery as to what lies at the bottom. Once inside, natural light fills the space, an unexpected surprise from something you might think would resemble a bunker of sorts.
The dappled concrete finishes and pale timber cabinetry sit in harmony with the vista, also creating the perfect backdrop to set up an easel and create a masterpiece.
The views are utterly breathtaking through the giant concrete framed window that juts out and over the cliff edge. Rugged coastal planting smoothes out any jarring with the natural surroundings.
This really is a hideaway, a place to retreat to and become inspired, a place to connect with mother-nature herself.
Best wishes,
Jess from Hector and Bailey
