The Animal Print Shop

Written by Jess Binns

Living in the wilds of Africa, we get very used to seeing photos of animals such as the giraffe or lion in a wild bush setting. I myself have reams of photos from safari trips clogging up my hard drive! And whilst there will be the odd ‘stunner’, I find myself suffering from ‘same setting’ photo fatigue.

Coming across ‘The Animal Print Shop’, an online store created by photographer, Sharon Montrose, was a real lucky find. Immediately you feel the connection that flows between photographer and animal, allowing a very honest representation of the soul – no bush or sunset to dilute. An avid lover of animals, Sharon began her quest to work with animals back in the nineties when she published a book about dogs. As the years went by, the call for animal photography grew and so ‘The Animal Print Shop’ was born.

When I look at her work I see how appealing these images are from a décor point of view, but more than that, I want it on my wall because they make you feel closer to the animal in question.

Before your mind starts racing towards the thoughts of ‘not in their own environment’, all the animals Sharon photographs have been rescued or raised from birth by loving and nurturing handlers who only have the welfare of their ‘babies’ on their mind. And because of such exposure, Sharon has been able to raise and support many animal related charities.

My favourite has to be the ‘Little Darlings’ collection. Just like you experience with small children, the playful spirit is clearly captured!

Shipping offered worldwide, time to head over and connect with your inner animal.
