Book your dream holiday at the luxurious Beach House Lodge, which sleeps a maximum of eight people. From the pool deck, step onto the golden sands of one of SA’s most stunning beaches and unwind. Guests have the option of self catering, or choosing one of the seven restaurants within walking distance.

Going from conceptual designs to successful implementation is a long, hard journey for most home owners. But the outstanding and picturesque Beach House Lodge makes the process look and sound effortless.

“The initial intention was to build an uncluttered family home with clean lines, capturing the magnificent sea views. As the family is very active on the beach (surfing, canoeing and jet skiing as well as fishing) they wanted indoor/outdoor living to be a strong element. “The beach in front caters for us all. As the hotel next to us presented itself during the construction, our home evolved into the perfect getaway destination and so The Beach House Lodge was born.”

According to the home owners, the rest is history. When the architect was commissioned, the brief presented to him was to design a five-bedroom home on a prime beachfront site in KwaZulu-Natal. The primary aim was to maximise access and views to the adjacent Indian Ocean. The client wanted to achieve a clean, uncomplicated structure that looked like it belonged on the beachfront, and the home also had to allow these residents to spend ample time outdoors. The architect therefore made use of large verandahs and large doors that stack away to open the interior up to the exterior. Ryan Harborth, the architect on the project, successfully managed to adhere to all specifications, while creating seamless indoor/outdoor living spaces.

If the interior leaves you awestruck, then the spectacular coastal view does more – it is enough to keep anyone feeling serene and entertained at the same time. While there is a buzz and bustle of activity in the area, the home is naturally private as an added bonus. One of the best things about living in the coastal region is that you’ll never run out of fresh air, you’re always surrounded by nature, and you can enjoy both entertainment and privacy whenever you need them.
