Proudly South African and woman-founded, Fab Curtains and Blinds is run by a passionate team of window treatment specialists, seamstresses and installers. Gauteng-based, the company crafts bespoke window coverings, wallpaper and cushions for clients across Gauteng, Limpopo and neighbouring provinces.
What do you love about your profession?
For me, being a window treatment specialist is about more than just measuring and installing. We transform people’s lives by making a house feel like a home. By managing how the outside elements interact with the inside, we control exactly how much light filters into a room and use our fabrics to absorb noise. This creates a warm, inviting environment that is truly conducive to living. The final product is a masterpiece, and seeing a client’s face light up gives us every reason to keep pushing forward.
How do you celebrate other women in the home industry?
If there is one thing we excel at, it is referrals and collaboration. We believe in uplifting one another within the interior design industry. There is always room for all of us to succeed; let’s choose connection over competition and network together.
Who or what has been your inspiration throughout your life?
I am deeply inspired by my mother and my husband. I have watched how grace has covered and carried them through every season of their journeys. Walking firmly in their faith in Jesus Christ, they are the voices always pushing me to excel and to lead with a servant’s heart.
What is your life affirmation that you live by daily?
Before I step outside of my sanctuary, I always pray: “Holy Spirit, lead my steps”. When He guides me, everything else falls perfectly into place.
What’s the one thing that makes you get out of bed in the morning?
My employees, and the fact that I can’t fail them.
A woman to me is … the womb of the earth. We are receivers, producers and nurturers.
