St Leger & Viney’s new showroom

St Leger & Viney, one of the country’s most respected fabric houses, is spreading its wings and opening doors in an exciting new location in Johannesburg’s Kramerville design district.

The new address on Appel Road in Kramerville takes the place of an old warehouse. Honouring its gritty roots, the team, including interior designer Peter Gordon and architect Peter Cohen, have designed a space inspired by the top drawer brands the company stocks. With an aesthetic that’s both modern and industrial they’ve taken their cue from New York’s Meat Packing district and given the new showroom an entirely fresh appeal with polished concrete floors, a design-focused interior and ample volume to show off their drapery offering.

The showroom itself, which comprises 450 square meters of the total footprint, will house St Leger & Viney’s wallpaper and fabric ranges as well as their accessories. Entering directly off the street, visitors will be lead through a landscaped courtyard before arriving at the showroom, without the need to contend with a staircase as in the past.

Visitors can also look forward to inspired displays, curated by talented designer Peter Gordon, which will include brands like Christopher Farr, Ralph Lauren and Elitis. Even their new bathrooms will give you reason to visit, with wallpaper by Thibaut. At the showroom’s official launch in June, they’ll be releasing two new local decorative collections, namely Indochine and Panoramic.
