Arguably one of Africa’s most beautiful countries, Mozambique is a perfect getaway destination for many South Africans who enjoy a tropical climate, truly magnificent terrain and mouthwatering cuisine. And now there’s a new development on the rise that is taking beachfront bliss to a whole new level.

The Peninsula Club development has been a four-year process to date. The first home within the development was built around three years ago, and presently six houses are complete. Currently, two more homes are in the construction phase.

The architectural theme for the houses built on the peninsula is Cape Cod beach – which Colin Bruwer, a South African developer of The Peninsula Club, describes as “conducive to easy beach living with large open spaces”. These spaces merge into one another seamlessly to create a minimalistic lifestyle that’s matched with the fragrantly fresh air, abundant light and evergreen natural surrounds.

The Mozambique climate is tropical with two predominant seasons: the dry season from April to September and the wet season between the months of October and March. While climate conditions may vary, rainfall is plentiful along the coastal line.

So what makes these houses different to any other, aside from the fact that they are located in Mozambique? “The uniqueness of these homes quite honestly is due to their location. All the homes on the peninsula have both sea and river views. The fact that when you step off the deck, you are quite literally on the beach and this also adds to the exclusivity of these homes,” says Colin.

Privacy is also on the cards at this pristine location. Since there are no roads to gain access to the peninsula, home owners are transferred to their homes by way of the development’s luxury barge. Not only does this add seclusion, but it enhances the island lifestyle ambience as well. The development also has a restaurant and bar on the mainland-side of the river, where there is secure parking and a pickup point to and from the peninsula.

It’s difficult not to love life when you’re living on a Mozambique coastline in one of these properties. Wake up early and open your doors to the beautiful beachfront or get ready for a picnic on the banks of the river – this is definitely living the dream.
