Having the perfect cookware is just as important as having all the ingredients of a recipe. Cookware is undoubtedly an investment, and good cookware can be handed down from one generation to another.

Mariam Hough, a category manager at AGA Cookshop, has noticed a shift in trends when it comes to how we cook and eat our meals.

She explains: “In the past, we have seen a move away from cooking in the home. Busy lifestyles used to stifle creativity in the kitchen and it was all about eating on the go. Since the change in the economy, we have seen another shift – ‘from scratch’ cooking is where people are spending more time in the kitchen, using cooking as a way to relax and socialise with friends and family visiting for dinner parties.”

She adds: “This is also reflected in the change in popularity of different kinds of cookware. Here, at AGA Cookshop, we have seen an increase in demand for cookware that is versatile and offers great value for money. Our stainless steel buffet pan is a great example of this – it is two products in one, as the lid can also be used as a skillet. It’s big enough to cook with for a large dinner party and can be taken straight to the table from the cooker.” We are all in search of cookware that suits every cooking style, and Ben Paine, the managing director of Le Creuset, points out that “our traditional range is the Le Creuset porcelain enamelled cast iron, which is ideally suited to slow cooking, stews, casseroles and roasts as well as grilled and braising. Le Creuset cast iron pieces are uniquely cast in their own sand moulds and undergo numerous quality checks through their production to ensure that the highest quality casseroles are produced. We also have a full three-ply stainless steel range as well as a durable, non-stick frying pan range”.

When it comes to stainless steel cookware, AMC Cookware has a wide range of high-quality, stainless steel cookware with an encapsulated aluminium alloy base. Kaye Cox, the consumer services manager for AMC Cookware, elaborates: “The aluminium is completely covered and in no way visible, neither does it come into contact with your food.”

This cookware brand also has electric cookware that you can simply plug into a socket and start cooking. The beauty of AMC Cookware, as Kaye states, is that “you can cook virtually anything in our cookware, in the regular way or waterless and fat-free. I personally roast, stew, braise, simmer, fry and even bake in my AMC cookware”.

Carrol Boyes has just launched its cookware range – “versatile and durable, this cookware is manufactured in the highest quality mirrored 18/10 stainless steel, and the complete encapsulated, universal base ensures even distribution of heat necessary for quality cooking and frying.

This range has been designed and developed to meticulous standards of quality and has all the important features required for superior cookware,” highlights Michelé Stuurman, a representative of Carrol Boyes.
